WHERE TO DONATE BY CHEQUE

We welcome all donations.  This is not just money, but time, enthusiasm, contact, visits, warm thoughts, and materials (though some things are just too impossible or expensive to ship out to Cambodia).  If you wish to visit or even just say hello, see the other sections (contacts, visits) section of this website.

WHY DONATE TO ROSE CHARITIES CANADA...

We are acutely aware of the vast number of organizations who ask, bug, harass and pester us the whole time for our money.  Almost all of them represent worthy and needy causes and it is clearly a personal decision who to support and why.  We give below however the reasons why you might like to support ROSE Charities Canada.

We are small and personal and run by volunteers.   We know exactly where our donations go and can follow each dollar right down to the field and where it is needed.
We have almost no administration costs
We are incredibly cost effective.  $20 can restore sight to a blind person, $50 can repair a cleft palate, or make a child walk again.
We are just as cynical as you about the final destination of many donations and aid money (we would encourage any of you to read 'Lords of Poverty'  by  Hancock) and are thus almost fanatical about making sure your donation does what you intend it to do.
We welcome, and invite  you to come and see our field work either on special trip or while on holiday in the area.  If you are a donor, you will literally be able to see your donations working.  If not, come and check us out anyway.
We love what we do.  It makes all of us, our beneficiaries, ourselves and our donors feel good. Each is  equally dependent on the other and the result is the creation of a create a symbiosis which is truly magical.

THANK YOU !! TO OUR DONORS, PRESENT AND PAST.... ..

Our work invariably brings in  an enormous amount of gratitude from those who we have been able to help. The organizers of ROSEcharities would like to pass much of this on to those organizations who have directly assisted our project work, either with funding, materials/equipment, and/or outstanding logistical support.

We would especially like to thank those who stood by us after the looting  of  our eye clinic in 2002 and helped re-build the organization back to what it is today.

TSUNAMI APPEAL DONORS

The terrible Boxing day 2004 tsunami created enormous immediate needs.  We were deeply touched by the spontaneous generosity that so many showed towards our relief programs. Corporations, organizations, groups, schools and individuals, so many rose to the occasion and delivered an overwhelming response to our appeal. Some too continue to help.  For all this - the money, the materials, the personal and professional time donations ,  the  well-wishes, concern, prayers, hugs and pledges... thank you....

The list below is not inclusive. There were so many who helped. So much kindness from all ages, children as well as adults. One little girl donated her favourite teddy for a Sri Lankan child. One old person took a two hour bus ride in from the outskirts of town to personally donate his weeks allowance.

We can say to you all though, honestly and clearly, we have not let you down. Your money has gone with virtually no administration costs to where you wished it to. Furthermore, we have, and continue to 'spin it out' though the further kindness and generosity of 'matching', tight control in the field, 'matching' by generous individuals etc. If we added in the amount of professional time which has been donated, the effective funding becomes far greater.

So for your sake, and ours, and especially the peoples affected by this terrible disaster, we are going to go every inch of the way.. and then further.. to make sure we deliver absolute and all that we possibly can. Its our privilege .. and we thank you for making it possible for us.

Thank you...
