“I guess it is known that the Mercy Boys' Home caters for the boys who leave the orphanage in Plaisance at 16 and have no one and nowhere to go. The age limit at the Home is 16-21 but we already have two young men who are 21 but who are still with us.  The cost of living is extremely high, especially now as VAT of 16% is charged on almost all goods. We encourage the  boys to save to prepare for "real" life so we do not charge them a rent; all the boys here are working but have small salaries. So we pay all the main expenses of the Home: electricity, water, telephone, Rentokil services etc. thus depend on the generosity of our benefactors.

If more information is needed just let me know.

If you are a UK Tax Payer (and even if you are not) you can donate to Sister’s home and its running costs through Rose Charities  which is a registered charity in the UK. You can make a cheque out for £20 (or more) and mark it clearly:  Rose Charities – MERCY BOYS’ HOME, GUYANA   and post it to the address on the form below. 

If you are a UK tax payer and can claim gift aid relief which is beneficial to the charity please fill in the attached form and make a covenant.  (The charity is also registered in Canada and USA and can issue tax receipts for donations made in those countries)
